That Badass Band From Söderfors

The seed that would become Just Got Paid was sown in the autumn of 2008 when guitarist Niklas Pettersson and bassist Claes Jansson found themselves drunk at Niklas home after a party and decided that it was time to put a band together.
A rockband does require a drummer, so after 8-9 months of rehearsing with a drummachine (a.k.a The Boss) the duo contacted drummer Thomas Ericsson, who immediately said yes to the offer to fill the empty drumchair, and Just Got Paid was born.

After about six months of rehearsing in an old barn at Claes, the songlist started to take form with songs mainly from that Lil ol band from Texas, some Swedish tunes from Nationalteatern, Ebba Grön, Eldkvarn and so on, some old classics from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Fleetwood Mac and others, but no CCR.
Not that we dont like CCR, we just dont play any of their songs.

The bands debut gig took place at the local pizza place in Tierp in rural east Sweden in march of 2010, and Just Got Paid have since then played over 120 gigs, and have over 100 songs on the songlist.

In the summer of 2012, drummer Thomas met Hank Hogg (of Billy Joe Shaver fame) through a mutual friend in Sweden, and they agreed that it would be fun if JGP could come over to Austin, Texas to play som gigs and see the music scene there.

After some planning, (and some serious saving!) three flight tickets, one hotel room and a rental car was booked and on 9/3/14 Flight BA177 took off to take the band to a ten day stay on the other side of the great ocean.

A few gigs had been booked in advance by our great Tour Manager Hank Hogg, but as we got there we got to play on six different occasions, with the highpoint being a gig at Maggie Maes on Sixth Street in central Austin.

We are immensely grateful to all the people in Austin that took us in and let us play, and a huge THANK YOU goes to our Tour Manager, Promotor, Tour Guide, GPS and very good friend Hank Hogg!!
We could not have done this without him!

If you want to contact the band, or just wonder what the hell all those Swedish words in our facebook updates mean, just write to us via e-mail, facebook (details on the contacts page) or our guestbook right here on the website and we will get right back to you!
